hi when i did a clean install of windows 7 it didnt detect my network card and graphics driver so i installed them with the cd that dell provided and when i restart my computer it did not detect my broadcom netlink gigabit ethernet card only my wireless internet card. any one can help fix it?
After the operating system is installed, the drivers should be installed in correct order. Please use this link which shows the right order: http://tinyurl.com/8xvx6xy
I suggest you to install the chipset drivers first from the below mentioned link and then install the rest of the drivers in order as shown in the above link.
As per the above image, WLAN card is detected in Device manager, and as Ethernet card is not detected in device manager I would like you to check in BIOS if the “Onboard LAN controller is enabled or disabled. To check please follow the below mentioned steps:
Restart the system by tapping F2 at Dell screen.
Select “Advanced” tab in the BIOS page.
Select “System Configuration” and check the option besides “Onboard LAN controller”, if it is “Disabled” please “Enable” it.
Press F10 to save the changes made and Exit the BIOS screen.
Check if the Ethernet controller is detected in Device manger, if it is detected try to plug in an Ethernet cable and check for network connection.
I suggest you to disable and enable “Onboard LAN controller” in BIOS and check.
To disable “Onboard LAN controller” enter BIOS, select Advanced tab and Disable it, save changes and exit and shutdown the system. Now restart the system by tapping F2 at Dell screen to enter the BIOS screen and enable “Onboard LAN controller” save changes and exit.
Now restart the system normally and check if the network card is detected in device manger.
If the issue persists, please private message the system service tag, contact number and registered owner’s name. I would like to check the system specifications and other available options to fix the issue.
To private message, click my user name and click “Start conversation”.
