Inspiron 1501 with Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN mini card will not connect automatically to my Cisco E3000 router. (have already ruled out router issue.

Desktop, other laptop and ipod all connect)

Opening the Wireless Network Connection window does not show any networks. (window is blank)

In order to connect, I have to do it  manually. I need to click on Change Advanced settings-->Wireless Networks-->check box for

'Use Windows to configure...-->properties-->enter network key-->OK

Once connected everything works fine, but once laptop is re-booted, everything has to be re-entered as listed above.

Before I upgraded to the E3000 router, when connected, there used to be a connection icon in the lower right shown as

signal strength bars colored green. This icon does not appear any longer. Even after connecting manually as listed above.

Thoughts anyone?
