Intel Proset for Wireless

I have a question concerning Dell's Wireless client for the 2200 BG Card.

I've noticed when using Intel Proset, since it's a "software" that loads after windows has loaded for people who login using a login script or connect to a Network printer, these processes will not occur unless of course you use a hard wired connection.  Is there a way to get the service to load as a service so we can have a network connection wireless as soon as the machine signs on?

Please advise.

Not sure if you already got an answer on your own...

You can get a connection prior to login by using the latest software for the 2200BG off the Dell support site.

    http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/format.aspx?releaseid=r89495&c=us&l=en&s=gen&cs=

What you'll need to do is after you install this software, go back in through Add/Remove programs and Modify it to install Pre-Logon Connection.  A side effect is that It will get rid of the Windows XP Welcome screen and leave you with a login prompt.

Then, you can go into the Administrator Tool and under Options enable the Pre-Logon and Persistent connection profile types.  Then create a pre-logon and/or persistent profile in the Adminstrator Tool.  Pre-logon profiles get you a connection before logging in and persistent profiles can maintain a connection after you log off.

Have you tried a system restore to before this happened? Is the card enabled in the BIOS?
