Internet Probs #2
I am having some problems. My internet worked fine. I use cable external modem... and a router to a hp and a dell... this morning my dell has stopped connecting or atleast have slowed down to almost stopped. I need help... I think it may be i need a internet gateway if so how do i create one for my dell... if not can someone give me any other ideas to fix this program... thanks...
Can you ping the router? Can you ping a DNS name such as www.dell.com?
If so, I would either look at spyware or an overloaded node from your cable internet supplier. Have you check the resources manager and looked at CPU usage?
- i can ping www.yahoo.com and www.google.com and etc.. but most of the time it doesnt work... or 2 out of 4 times it will get a reply.... It loads severly slow........ i mean SLOW.... and other stuff wont even log in... and i am just confused as heck on this.... it worked just fine then BAM the next morning it didnt...
You posted on my post because you had the same problems. I kind of think that the guy was a little out of line. I made a post to that if you care to read it. That is the way it use to be. I am curious to see if any solutions will take care of our problem. Mine started a couple of weeks ago. I even tried swapping cables to see if the problem would transfer and it didn't. Must be something with that one machine. Good luck.

- I am having the same issues. I get better results with Mozilla... don't ask...
Still not as great as my last computer. I disabled the internal network card and installed a 3Com PCI card. Same issues. Very slow internet or no internet at all. It is the computer..
