I tried to make a Minecraft server following PortForward.com tutorials and i failed in making one. So i removed the ports and put everything back to normal but the one thing that annoys me is the IPv4 ip address thing. In Portforward.com, tutorial it told me to make a ip address for example 192.168.0.7 but once i changed it i can't remember what was the original.I did try click the box for IPv4 properties to make it obtain the settings automatically but it didn't work. When i look at my connection details in cmd. I see IPv4 and my ip address that i made for it. Next to it, it says "(Preferred)" I tried restarting my connection, but nothing works.
SO.... My question is, does this have any effect on my connections? With the internet, Laptop, or other devices??

An ipconfig /all log can provide you with information you need.
TCP/IPv4 has been widely used for a long time. Since the internet has become more popular, the introduction to IPv6 has been introduced. Not all wireless routers, especially the older ones are not IPv6 compatible, so a new router would be needed. IPv6 Test your IPv6
Go to Network and sharing center, click on your connection, properties. Look for TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 and click on properties for each. Have your settings match mine.
If this did not fix you connection, try reading...
Resetting the winsock should help.

Hi Rick,
I tried the link "how to repair connection" and restarted my PC, then later I checked out the IPv4 address on cmd and it stills have the custom address there plus with Preferred next to it. Does having the ipv4 address (Preferred) have any bad outcomes? Or is it just fine?
Also here's few picture of each properties for the Ipv4.

Glad you understand. I really didn't think port forwarding was necessary, as long as you had your connections.

Danny,
The preferred IP Address is the IP Address your wireless router assigned to this connection. It should be fine.
Are you having problems connecting?
I know you want Port Forwarding, but what is it really needed for?
I Googled Port Forwarding and the RESULTS gave me simple FREE advice how to setup Port Forwarding. The results stated, you have to make a static IP Address for Port Forwarding, you'd use the settings above. Without the IPconfig /all log, you'd enter the
Example:
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.103 (Preferred)
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Not sure if you'd need the DNS Servers.
If you change these on your computer to make them static, then restart the computer and cannot connect, then tell it to allow the DNS servers to be automatic(assigned by your ISP) and just give the static IP Address
On my wireless router, I use these Recommended Wireless Router Settings I use channel 11. I have my firewall turned off in my wireless router and use the Windows Firewall. I suggest a new SSID to make connecting easier.
