Limited or No Connectivity
I have a Dell vostro 1000 running windows XP
The wireless works fine at my home. It also used to work fine at my systers house.
However, recently she had to setup a new wireless netowk in her house. She has two computers and a printer hooked up wirelessly and they all work fine.
However, since the change, I have been unable to connect to her network.
My laptop detects her network, the 26 character WEP key has been verfified as correct. Single strength is identified as excellent but I get 'limited or no connectiviy' and no internet. In searching, this seems to happen failrly often with Dell computers and I haven't found a clear cut response. Hoping for some help her.

Same router and different Network name from what she had before. I'll have to check about the DHCP. She's using WEP protocol which is what she used before. I've tried deleting the networks in my list and letting the router find the new one but still the limited/no connectivity, no IP address problem
My laptop connects to my own home network okay.

Some wireless devices work better on cvhannels 1, 6 or 11. If she has hers set for Auto, then the changing of the channels can also be the factor.
Your Virus program and firewall can also be a factor.
Run an ipconfig /all when you're connected to her network and cannot connect, it may reveal something.

Could be she has Mac Address Filtering, ran out of ip addresses, the channel her network is on. If she changed wireless routers and kept the same network name, this could alos be the issue. Does she haveDHCP enabled? Broadcasting SSID?
Can you connect at A WiFi Location?
I usually recommend using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings, I use channel 11. I have not had a wireless device that could not connect to my network.
