Have your tried a different network cable to connect the router to the computer? Have you tried using a different router port? Are you sure your network card is well-seated in it's slot (ignore this question if you have an integrated network adapter)?

You need to supply more details. How are you connecting to the internet (cable/dsl/dialup)? If cable or dsl, are your connecting directly to the cable/dsl modem or through a router? If directly to a modem, is it a USB connection or an ethernet connection?
