No Network Adaptor

I had to reimage my Dell E310 (4MVF691). It runs XP. I have reloaded all the software. However I can not get on the interent. My Device Manager does not show the Network Adaptor. Listed under Other Devices: Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus, Ethernet Controller and Video Controller (VGA Compatible). At one time there were more items listed with yellow question marks but they are now gone. No drivers are loaded. I went to the Microsoft website but I have no idea what drivers I need. I only had Service Pack 2 loaded but upgraded to Pack 3 from the website by using my portable hard drive. I checked with my provider to make sure my DSL modem is working and it is. Can anyone help me out? The Geek Squad wants about $200 to help.

This is usually caused by not installing the Chipset drivers and the desktop or notebook system software first before all other drivers. If those are not installed first, all other drivers do not install properly.

All the drivers for the 310 below.   If you choose "enter a service tag" hopefully it will only list the devices specific to your PC.  The install order Mary referred to is in the link at the top (Help with Drivers and Downloads).    Just don't use the Dell Download Manager - use the second browser option to download each file to your working PC.   You can rename the files if you wish (system software, chipset, audio etc.) before transferring them over and installing them.
