After setting up the wireless network pretty sucessfully, I ran into a internet connectivity problem. I reached Dell's Wireless "expert" and after an hour of changing settings, he told me I would have to "re-install XP'.
I called back 5 min later, got someone else and it was fixed in 10 min.
One of the things the first "expert" had me do was remove Zone Alarm. Through "add/remove programs".
Over the next few moths I experienced incresing problems with programs not being able to access the internet (for updates, etc.)
I finally called Dell when it got really bad. Uh uh, it's a Sunday, just like last time and guess what.(after beig on hold for 65 min)..same guy (Expert #1). Two questions and 5 min later her tells me I have to "re-install XP"
Sorry guy. The problem was that you had me remove Zone Alarm improperly the first call. YOU caused this problem. And if I had listened to you, I would have re-installed my gosh darn OS twice already. I re-downloaded Zone Alarm and it all works fine now.
I had the same issue and no longer call in. I try to only email my support questions in. The phone support of Dell is horrible and has completely fallen to the dogs.
