I bought a laptop for my little sister as a reward for her good grades this year.

It was an ebay special and was told everything worked fine.

When it came the batt was fried (on the recall list) and the wireless card has issues. And other XP stuff that needed updateing.

I have updated the WIFI to current s/w and drivers. The Wireless "RADIO" is active.

My IP address comes up, gateway all that stuff. I go to cmd and try to ping yahoo.com and nothing happens.

IE and Firefox both give the Page cannot dispay message.

I have followed the Dell step by step to release and renew all kinds of stuff. DNS, Winsock,.....

But I think there is a problem w/ the TCP/IP

Using my ethernet LAN the page will load fine.

Any Ideas?
