Wireless connection instability

I have an Inspiron 8600 with an Intel Pro 2200 integrated wireless card. I am able to connect wireless when I am near the Westell router/modem. This connection is lost when I move away from the router. I then have trouble reconnecting, unless I reboot my system? Another person with a different system has been able to connect from any location without a loss in connection. Has anyone else had this probem? Does it appear that I have an incorrect setting anywhere?

    take the door off for the mini-pct slot and remove the two antenna leads and then put them back on. If that doesn't help, completly remove the card and then put it back in.

    Also check the config for your wireless router and ensure the channel you are using isnt getting interference...
     
    The Dell utility that comes with your wireless card should tell you if you are getting mostly interferance or just a weak signal... Check the tool....
