Wireless keeps disconnecting

I received my 600m today and so far love it except for one thing.  It came with the standard (b) internal wireless network card.  I had no problems connecting to the internet except it will not stay connected for more than a few minutes.  I'll get the message that one or more networks is available.  I have to click on that message and it immediately reconnects me and shows that I have excellent connection.  Does anyone have any idea why the network keeps disconnecting.  It's a little aggravating

I actually do have a 2.4 but I don't think that was the problem.  I went into network FAQ and tried the following suggestion:

Step 6. Windows XP Service Pack 1, adds an additional authentication IEEE, disable it by clicking on the Authentication tab in the above screen, you will now see this, uncheck Enable, click OK

It seemed to have worked.  So far, so good !!!

Do you have a 2.4mhz phone around? That was a pain for me till I found what it was. (I did not know daughter bought one.) It would seem that the wireless routers also use the 2.4 band.

I wish I had some other suggestions for you.  My 600m has been working fairly well.  I did notice, however, an occasional drop if I had my cordless 2.4mhz phone close by and it rang while I was online. :smileysad:

i think i found the problem, i have the intel card and the software for the intel card keeps trying to manage the connection when windows is already doing it, i am going to try uninstalling all the intel stuff and see what happens
