I noticed whenever I use my wireless phone (2.4 ghz) while I am on my computer ( I have a wireless connection through a Dell Truemobile router, it kicks me off the net. Is there any way I can eliminate this?
Yes, change the broadcast channel in the router to either channel 1 or 11. Most likely it is set to the default channel 6. Consult the router documentation to see how to do this. Your PC will conform to the new channel and does not need to be changed. Also see if you can relocate the cordless phone farther away from the router.
My.router (identical to http://192.168.2.1) is the router's web based configuration tool. When you access my.router you are making changes to the router, not the wireless network adapter in the computer. Go ahead and make the change at my.router and restart the computer. It will automatically see the new channel.
I see how to change the channel on the computer ( I got onto
myrouter.com and changed the channel from auto. to channel 1.) Do I change the channel at the router, if that is possible?
