Sign In Issue

Hi,

Have you ever faced any issue after this new web pages of dell community like mentioned below?

I have not changed my password or revoked user id, I was able to login before, but now a days I am unable to login. It showing user id and password are incorrect. When go for 'forgot password' it is showing my email id does not exist in the database.

Could you please let me know what is the difference between Dell Account and Community Account?

Could you please tell me how to update e-mail in profile?

Pls help me.

Thanks & Regards.

Roy

When this new forum debut in November 2008 one of the changes Dell made was that the Dell Community Forum user id and the Dell Account user id got merged. Many people had problems with this because they had one email for DCF and another for their Dell Accounts. If they bought several computers and used different email addresses each time, they could have multiple user ids. It was very confusing.

    Yes, you are right.

I used to use 1 particular community id (created in June,08) and password. And that ID had an e-Mail.

After few months, in the month of December,08, when I was trying to login, it was not asking for ID rather e-mail. I gave the e-mail. But it said 'This e-mail does not exist in database'. I had to do all from scratch again. :emotion-7:

But 1 thing. In community the Primary Key is the User ID. That always exists and never changes.

Do you know how to change the e-mail attached to it? Is it EDIT PROFILE>PUBLIC E-MAIL? Why it is PUBLIC, not only E-MAIL?

    Thanks & Regards.

On the main page of these forums http://en.community.dell.com on the lower right corner there is a couple of links about the single logon.

I had some trouble with the changeover from user id to email address, so I had to email Dell about it. Fortunately it was fixed.
