Hi, I have a little problem with my optiplex with RX6400 installed.
After installing this GPU I had to disable Secure Boot, and enable Legacy ROM otherwise computer won't even boot.
Now it works but there are some issues, GPU won't show any signal from bios, It only shows any video after windows boots. If I want to set anything in bios I need to plug monitor to onboard HDMI port, also I have to keep onboard HDMI connected (while monitor is plugged to GPU), otherwise monitor sometimes is losing signal from GPU. Windows is detecting multiple monitors, main monitor from GPU, and secondary from Intel onboard graphics.
Is there something I can do to make GPU work without plugging monitor to onboard HDMI? This problem is weird, I never had problems like this before
I had GF1030 earlier and it was working without any problems.
Any help will by appreciated
Ps. My English is not perfect so I can explain more if needed
try first replace cmos batt w a new one and clear cmos settings via motherbd jumper
this way cmos is cleared
set secure boot off and legacy rom on for now
try set video to auto,
Primary Display Allows you to select the primary display when multiple controllers are available in the system. ● Auto (default) ● Intel HD Graphics NOTE: If you do not select Auto, the on-board graphics device will be present and enabled
assume your card has both HDMI and DP, try each video port. if you are using HDMI, try DP instead and vice versa.
lastly, try small step bios update to latest version, beware of risk of flashing bios.
ultimately if there is no good solution you may just forget about entering bios and use the pc normally (windows). it is inconvenient if you have to unplug to enter bios but hopefully most ppl do not need to enter bios on regular basis. set it and forget it
I have both DP and HDMI ports in my monitor, albo both DP and HDMI ports are in my GPU, and motherboard. I tried various setups but nothing changes. Currently there is DP connected to GPU, and HDMI to onboard graphics, so I just change source in the monitor if needed but it's kinda annoying.
I also already tried changing Primary Display but it effects with no display at all, and I need to reset cmos.
For now I tried to disable Multi Display option and suddenly I got display from bios boot screen and windows as well, but not for long. When I restarted the PC there was display from bios but nothing from windows.
Bios is updated to latest version.
It seems like Optiplex PCs don't like Radeon GPUs. Maybe there is an other sollution to this problem.
