how to boot from external USB on Dell Optiplex 7020?
Hello,
I have an Optiplex 7020 that someone gave me. They told me that the computer has a bad hard drive. I am trying to boot the computer from a USB drive (ubuntu 18.04) to see if the computer will work before I purchase a new hard drive. However, I cannot get this thing to boot to the USB drive. I can hit F2 during boot and get to a setup menu, and I have tried a bunch of different settings in the setup: both Legacy and UEFI. But I don't seem to be finding the right settings. Does anyone know the right combinations of settings to enable me to boot from a USB drive?
Also, hitting F12 during boot does not seem to do anything for me.
Thanks for the help.

Secure boot must be OFF and CSM ON with Legacy Option Roms enabled.
Then press F2 F12 F2 F12 F2 F12 F2 F12 F2 F12 F2 F12 F2 F12 F2 F12 as soon as you turn on to get the boot menu. Bootable usb must be in USB2 port before power on.
You get less than 10 SECONDS to get the menu.
