0MT09V Compatibility

I have a spare one in my pile of components. Anyone know if this will work in a R610?

Currently I have a MikroTik router fed by my ISP fiber using an LC connector, ethernet from there to my R610 that runs pfSense as a transparent firewall feeding an N3048.

I'd like to use this card in my R610 with one port for the ISP fiber and the other to go straight into the SFP+ port on the N3048.

Is there a chart somewhere of the SFP+'s to use for this?

    Hi SteffanCline!

The MT09V is supported in our 12th generation systems like R620, R720, 720xd and R820.

It might not be detected in your R610 and also the lack of drivers for this system may cause some trouble.

I do not recommend using this piece in your system.

I checked the options for the R610 and did not find such a card. So you may use one card for copper and one for fibre.

    Best regards,
    Stefan

    Hello SteffanCline,

I find these part numbers compatible with an R610. Sales may be able to quote you others:

    PN# CYK8V  - 10GBase-DA SFP+ Adapter, Dual Port, Network Card, 10 GbE, Intel

    PN# K188P  -BCM957711 10G SFP+ NIC, Dual Port, PCIe, Network Card, 10 Gb, Broadcom

I'll find a R620 to use with that card but what SFP+'s should work fine for that kind of config?

@Dell -Charles R I need to replace that 610 anyway so going to a 620 is a nice step forward. In my last question I was referring to the actual SFP+s to use in that 0MT09V card and the N3048 SFP+ ports. The ISP provided an LC connector on their fiber and all the FC cards I have are LC connectors too so I might as well use that for this purpose too. Any specs on the correct SFP+'s to use for that?

    Hi,

Based on the MT09V QLogic 57800S user guide, there is a list of support modules for the card. I'm looking at 57810S as it has the same chipset, and found N743D. https://dell.to/3fqax30

N743D is also listed compatible with N3048.

@DELL-Joey C  I just received an email from my ISP that they ran a new 2/10g circuit to my rack and have a SFP-10G-LR 1310 nm on their end. Is the SFP you listed compatible with the ISP's SFP?

It wouldn't let me edit my comment... I checked all of the SFP+'s listed in the user guide and they all show 850nm, Are there any 1310nm SFP+'s that anyone may know are compatible with this card?

I am not seeing any defined as such, so it is likely we haven't validated any. Now depending on your daughtercard, if need be, you could get a pcie nic that does support it.

@DELL-Chris H Any you think might be worth a try? I don't mind giving a shot. SFPs are cheap and I don't mind the trial and error.

    Hello,

It's hard to say because I was not able to try it. It is difficult to give this advice. I can say that it is not appropriate to say to buy and try. It would be easier to say that it would not be a problem for you to try it is SFP you already have.
