PE2400 intermittently loses RAID and date config

I changed the backplane from a 1x6 to 1x4 to accommodate 1.6” drives. After doing so the BIOS seems to have trouble keeping its information straight. Every few times I restart, the BIOS loses the date, service tag, and the onboard RAID settings. I set the date and turn on board RAID back on and it boots up to Windows with no issues. When I restart again after making the changes, everything works well... until the next time.

Normally I would figure it’s the battery, but when I change back to the original 1x6 backplane, all is well.

I don’t want to configure this server for any critical apps with these problems still around.

Any thoughts?

Run the RCU utility which should be on the server assistant cd.
You are advised to use this when adding any new hardware into the system, so it will at least rule it out as a factor.
