Poweredge 1650 System Bios Damaged

Hi Dell technical supporter,

I have several Dell PowerEdge 1650 that I support. One just booted up with the message "System Bios is Damaged. Reloading from diskette in Drive A". I downloaded PE 1650 BOIS A11 and made a floppy, but that does not seem to be in the format it wants. How do I create the floppy to restore the bios?

Thanks.

The PE1650 BIOS does not display this message.

    There's a similar posting/solution for a different PowerEdge:

The BIOS upgrade diskette A11 for PE1650 can not upgrade it because the BIOS upgrade software checks current BIOS first.
Since this check finds abnormal BIOS in the system, the upgrade BIOS software stops at this point.
Is there any BIOS loading software which does not do current system BIOS check?
And I think that DELL should have such BIOS loading software because every brand new device has to use it to load BIOS the first time.
Can someone in DELL tell me the web link to download such BIOS loading software for poweredge 1650?

    Thank you.

This is not a message that comes from the Dell system BIOS or the dos update utility. You've probably got a crisis recovery diskette from a competitor's product in your floppy drive. You should check your floppy drive and CD drive to make sure they are empty.

    Thank you for your suggestion.
I am not at the server right now and forgot the exact message when I boot without anything in the floppy or CD drivers.
However, the problem is that BIOS reports errors and stopped to boot.
As I said in above, I tried to use PE1650 A11 BIOS upgrade diskette to load the A11 BIOS into the server and it does not do that because the A11 diskette checks current system BIOS and found it is abnormal and stops at this point.
Again, if anyone knows a PE 1650 BIOS loading software which does not check current system BIOS or does not stop at the point that current system contains abnormal BIOS, please let me know.

    Thanks again.

Can you provide the exact failing message for the BIOS?

Can you provide hte exact message from the BIOS update program?

It is extremely unlikely that the "BIOS" is reporting this error, as that string does not exist in the BIOS source code. More than likely it's the diskette that you are using.
