Poweredge 2950 Broadcom teaming

How do I team the broadcom ethernet adapters together I have looked in the options on the broadcom software that came with the server and can't find an option to team the devices together. I also tried to download management software from dells website for the broadcom adapters and it won't let me install saying that it is not compatible with the current software.

Which OS are you running and what package did you download? It sounds like you may need to install .NET 2.0.

**This answered is based on Windows Server 2003**

A PE2950 uses onboard Broadcom 5708 NICs & in order to team them you need to install the Broadcom Advanced Controller Suite (BACS) - this is part of the following NetExtreme II driver update package for which can be downloaded from the link below or from the Dell Support site; http://ftp.us.dell.com/network/NIC_DRVR_WIN_R185738.EXE

Package Contents NetXtreme II Windows Server 2003/2008 Family drivers - BAD = 4.1.5, NDIS =4.2.2, Diagnostic driver = 4.1.1, VBD: 4.2.2 NetXtreme I Windows Server 2008 Family drivers:

    NDIS:10.62.1.2c

    BASP Teaming driver = 6.2.33

BACS GUI Management Application = 11.0.23

    NX2 RIS Monolithic driver version = 4.0.0

When you launch the BACS software the NICs available will be presented in the left hand panel, i.e. the onbaord Braodcom NICs. Right clicking on either of these NICs will given you some options, one of which should be the teaming option! Full documentation for the BACS software is available below; http://ftp.us.dell.com/network/Bcom_LAN_11.0_T4.2_Manual_A03.exe
