poweredge 400sc
Just added an extra drive to my poweredge 400sc. It was a maxtor 20gb, 7200 rpm.
I notice that the copy from disk to disk is very slow.with high cpu utilization.why would that occur. Both drives live on the same bus.

If you want to copy disk to disk faster connect them on different IDE channels. IDE channels run independantly but ddevices on the same channel (master/slave) have to wait for each other to complete their operation.
