I seen that I could do a bios update on my r720. Trying to update 2.2.2 to 2.7.0
I downloaded the new bios and when I execute it, I get the message Execution Status : System Services is disabled.
I figured out that my Lifecycle Controller is in recovery mode. So I go into the bios and set the lifecycle controller to enable. Then press f10 to try to get in. I get a message that "failed to load lifecycle controller firmware volume"
So I find a solution to go into the idrac and upload the Dell lifecycle controller repair package. When I do this, I get "package verification failed"
I tried v1.7.5, v1.5.0 and v1.4.0 (solutions found via google said had to be >1.5)
What is the next step here? I can't find a next solution to try via google.
maybe you can try to update your server with the iso bootable update media, this will completely and automatically update all firmware on your system...
