Running a gpu on Poweredge and using iDrac

Hi - just a general question before i possibly purchase a poweredge r710 20 or 30.

I want to use this in a home environment so being a server it would have to be tucked away to be completely headless. If i were to install my p2000 quadro card would i still get full graphical access on the idrac. Currently i have a proliant ML380 and with the p2000 plugged in i loose the screen as the onboard vga card is then disabled so for example if i want to rebuild remotely, i cant as when the os has booted at that point i loose the screen.

Cheers

Andy

If embedded video controller is disabled then virtual console on iDRAC will be blank.

Also note, P2000 GPU card is not supported with the servers mentioned. However, It may work. With it being an unsupported configuration, I can't promise that.

Hi, I haven't quite got a grasp of what you would really like to do but as far as wanting to see a monitor, you can either use virtual console though idrac or I may suggest that you plug out the p2000 since Dell does not support external VGA cards. Thanks for choosing Dell PowerEdge, Happy New year.
