I recently had to rebuild a crashed SYS volume on a PowerEdge 2400 server. I would like to add a RAID 1 mirrored drive now that the emergency is over. However, I know that I'll have to create a new container for the mirrored pair.

I do have Server Magic software to copy the partitions between disks. However, if I copy the SYS volume to a scratch disk, then copy it to the new mirrored container, my question is: will this be transparent to Netware?

It would seem an elegant way to solve the problem, but I don't want to waste time on something that's going to result in a useless boot disk. I'll settle for copying a bootable rescue drive, or perhaps even a software mirror.

Any advice would be appreciated.
