Boot Failed: Raid Controller
Hello! I'm a complete noob to this so please excuse my lack of knowledge. I'm looking for some help with this.
I bought a used R730, and am currently configuring it. The hard disks I have are 4 new 1.2 TB SAS Hard Drives (Dell WXPCX). I'm trying to set up RAID 6 on it, and then will be installing Proxmox. I foolishly booted Proxmox early, and during that configuration it said it couldn't see the Hard Disks.
I'm running into boot issues with the embedded raid controller (H730). Picture of it is attached. I have already set the boot mode to UEFI, and created a Virtual Disk. Pictures attached. Any idea what else I'm missing?

The Virtual Disk background initialization completed, but did not correct anything.

Hello I believe this is happening because the OS (Proxmox) has not been officially tested by Dell. You'd need to check if the OS provider provides the RAID controller driver at all.

Our Server( Dell EMC PowerEdge T440 showingPXE-E18:Server response timeout. Boot Failed: PX device 1: Embedded NIC 1 Port 1 Partition 1No boot device available or Operating System detected.Please ensure a compatible bootable media is available.It also showing Booting from RAID Controller in slot 4: Windows Boot ManagerBoot Failed : RAID Controller in slot 4: Windows Boot ManagerBooting from PXE Device 1: Embedded NIC 1 Port 1 Partition 1Picture of it is also attached.Does this mean a hardware or software failure? What should I do?

because you have a new problem you should open a new thread.
Check your raid controller and whats the statuts of the already existing VD in your case. Because you have an older system check the logs if there are problem with the CMOS battery and if the server resets his settings and change the BIOS mode or AHCI settings. Because the later ones doesnt use a existing PERC per default
From your message we are unable to see the system configuration and if you have use a S130 or a real Perc for example. With the system stag you can check on dell.com/support how the system leave the factory and if there was a real PERC included.

Hi,
Same thought, it could be that the BIOS is reset. Please check the SATA settings if it has changed, probably you need to set to RAID if the previous configuration is on RAID mode.
Do check in the BIOS/LCC logs to see if there is any hardware failure.
Or it could be that the Windows boot manager is corrupted.
Was there a power failure?

Create the vDisk again and select FastInit and check if there is a differrent. You also can try the one time boot option or manual selecting the boot device. After that i am sure we will find the option to add the vDisk into the boot order for UEFI.
