Disk firmware updates needed

I have an R710 with a Perc6/i controller, Openmanage says the disks firmware needs to be updated but I couldn't boot from the Nautilus flashdrive.

My keyboard doesn't work in EFI boot mode, can't select the flashdrive/nor does it attempt boot from flash, and BIOS boot doesn't do anything with the flashdrive.

In Server 2012 R2 event log, it shows lots of disk errors across most of the disks (DR1/2/5/6/8)

Sometimes, the server will crash hard, the event log doesn't show any BSoD's or other helpful messages as to why it died. There is no network connectivity on crash and I have to Power off/on with iDrac.

Are the disk errors related to the crash and how do I fix?

    TechTornado,

The Nautalis tool would be specifically to update the HDD's themselves. The issue you are seeing likely isn't being caused by the drives, but instead are being caused by the Perc 6/i itself is out of date. You can run those updates straight from the OS, so no need for the USB media. You can also boot to the OMSA Live Environment using the ISO. Then run the linux version of the firmware update.

Let me know if this helps.

Good to know, thank you for that, I'll try live osma later on.

Also, I ran the update and it says the controller already at latest version.
