I've got an older Dell 6300 that recently started giving me troubles.

First the backplane on the unit went dead, and the BIOS was reporting that it was missing.

Just got the replacement part from Dell today, swapped it out, then figured out I needed to update the ESM since the backplane had out of date firmware. Not a problem.

Now the PERC 2 is reporting the container status as DEAD. It's a RAID5 container with 8 members, but I can't get it to come online; all drive lights show green now (when the backplane went out they all went amber). Using the SCSI Disk Utilities I can see the individual drives.

I've pulled all the drives, turned on the machine, and had the card reset the configuration, then put the drives back in the same order, and it read the config again (RAID5, 8 members), but it still reports the container as dead.

Anything else I can try? The PERC 2 menu is a little less sophisticated than my newer Dell PEs (imagine that).
