Poweredge 1850 RAID drives not showing up

Hello! I apologize for any lack of information this is my first post. I have acquired a Dell Poweredge 1850. For whatever reason I cannot see the hard disk drives! I can use the CD drive, floppy drive, and use all the onboard front panel controller. There is no blinking amber light on the front. I have tried the following:

  1. Reset the NVRAM
  2. Tested the RAM sticks individually (there are presently two known good working sticks in the proper DIMMs)
  3. Loading the LSI Controller Driver from floppy

After that the BIOS did not have the "RAID" option. Then I receive an error stating "Warning: Detected missing RAID hardware for the embedded RAID subsystem. Data loss will occur! Press Y to switch mode to SCSI, press any other key to disable both channels. Press Y to confirm the change; press any other key to cancel."

Side notes:

The BIOS is updated to the latest version

I have taken parts from an identical server and had the same results.

Any help is very much appreciated!

Which parts did you swap?  The main parts will be the RAID key, RAID memory, and the RAID battery.  Boot to the BIOS Setup (F2) and see if you can enable RAID under Integrated Devices.  If swapping the RAID components doesn't work (and you have cleared the NVRAM), then it is probably the motherboard.
