RAID 5 conversion
We have a Poweredge 840 running Windows Server 2003, with 2 - 500 GB SATA drives, running RAID 0. We would like to add 2 additional 500 GB drives, and convert it to RAID 5. Is this possible without wiping everything, and setting it up from scratch? Thanks
- Which raid controller are you using? The raid controller would have to do the conversion, so the answer will depend on the raid controller model (onboard 'simple' raid controller probably only supports raid 0 and 1, but the more advanced PERCs can do raid conversions).

The SAS5iR does not support expansion or hot spares.
