Poweredge 1850 + windows 2K
Hello.
I am new to the forum so please forgive me if I am covering old ground with this post.
I have recently purchased a poweredge 1850 server with windows 2000 server.
The machine has 4 gig of memory but windows 2K server only registers 3.2. Does anyone know why it can not see all 4 gig?

First, are you using an onboard Video controller which is sharing part of your overall memory? That will reduce your actual free memory.
Otherwise, you will probably have to use Windows 2000 Advanced Server. Make note that standard Windows 2000 Server will only see a max of 4gb of memory.
