Go to SolutionMD3220i and Vmware ESXi
Hi,
We bought a MD3220i to use as shared storage for our vmware datacentre.
I'm a little bit confused by the documentation..
it states that it needs Host software installed on each host that will connect to the MD3220i and the the software contrains: the necessary storage agent and multipath driver.
And that all host servers that connect to the storage array need it.
Presumably this also includes the ESXi hosts?? If so - how do i install that on the ESXi hosts?
ADvice would be appreciated,

As said earlier, the requirement is only applicable for Linux and Windows.

That applies only to Windows and Linux hosts that connect. Not to VMware (ESX/ESXi) hosts.
I highly recommend to review www.delltechcenter.com/.../VMware+ESX+4.0+and+PowerVault+MD3000i to get an idea how to set up an ESXi system to properly use an MD3-series array.
The MD3220i has 4 iSCSI ports per controller, so if you want to use all 4, you will need 4 subnets and 4 NICs (for iSCSI), instead of the 2 that that link shows for the MD3000i (predecessor to the MD32xxi).
