ME4024 suggested disk pool setup

Configuring a new ME4024 SAN. Going through the Storage Setup wizard and it has suggested creating two pools, one with 6 disks and one with 2. They are all SSD disks, why would i want this? I can't see how this is a useful configuration?

I'm happy to do my own configuration, but seeing as though this is the suggested config i thought it was worth exploring. There isn't any info the manual on this type of config.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

    Hello emtelf,

Here is a link to the Deployment Guide which has the best practice guides for setting up your ME4024. https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/powervault-me4024_deployment-guide_en-us.pdf

The wizard is trying to set the system up with a pool for each controller.  You can manually set the drives for each pool, as the wizard has selected what it thinks is best based on the drives in the system.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
