I have Dell Precision 3620 and I want to add an extra Drive to the machine. The current HDD caddy/cage already has two drives installed. I noticed that there are brackets attached to and below the Optical Drive cage which look like they could support a drive cage. If so what would it be called and does anyone know the part number for it? I have an HBA card which supports both SAS and SATA drives. See my picture attached. Thanks in advance.
I have solved it and now have 4 HDDs and 2 SSDs installed. I cannot use swappable drives because I need the drives available 24x7 and am phasing out, for the most part, external USB drives.
There's adapter cages that'll hold one 3.5" drive and a 2.5" drive in one optical drive bay. Is that what you're using? Also adapters that'll hold two 2.5" drives in one HDD bay.
