Dell r7910's various issues
Hi,
I have two dell r7901's with various issues.
Both computers are having issues with loading their lifecycle controllers. They seem to need 5-10 reboots before they load. They both have bios 2.12.1, and iDRAC 2.75.100.75. I did these updates after experiencing the intermittent lifecycle controller issue. Im unable to install any further updates via usb as the digital signatures are not recognized.
I was able to install windows 10 on one of them, which at the time was fully working in about November 2020. I was able to access raccadm via command prompt and turn off the after market gpu default fan settings, I had access to the network and I was able to access the dell website and run the full diagnostic tests. Thinking it was fully working, I then packed the computer away for a premises move and on restarting it this February, I was unable to access the network connection to run diagnostics via the dell website and the racadm settings relating to the aftermarket gpu had reverted to default with an error message along the lines of 'I do not have the necessary privileges to access this feature'
I was able to access idrac through windows via the standard ip address, however this provided no additional options. I tried re-installing windows and this was unsuccessful due to the lifecyle controller failing to load reliably. The installation attempt then removed my previous installation.
Im currently unable to install windows on either computer in order to access the dell webiste to scan for drivers/diagnostics. I tried resetting bios and idrac to default which has made no difference. Ive not been able to establish a connection to the dell ftp server through the lifecycle controller.
