Dell T3500 CPU not working
Hello
I previously had a T3500 and the motherboard died, so I bought a new t3500 with plans to move over my cpu.
The new T3500 comes with a w3520, and I updated the bios to a17. I installed my w3680 and I now get "long beep - long beep - and four short beeps". Computer works fine with the w3520.
Any ideas? thanks!

Hi relic45,
The beep code relates to a BIOS ROM checksum error:
https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/sln288786/precision-t3500-t5500-t7500-workstations-diagnostic-lights-and-beep-codes?lang=en
The fact that the board works with the w3520 would suggest an issue with the w3680.
What was the issue with your old motherboard? Could it have caused the w3680 to fail too?
Do the motherboards both have the same Dell part number?
If you could let us know, thanks.
