1720dn Laser Custom Paper
Hello -
I have a Dell 1720dn printer. I'm running Windows 7 with Publisher 2010. I have a postcard that is 6"x6" and I have set the size of the document in Publisher. However, when I try to print the postcard on my laser printer, it only lets me select a page size of 8.5"x11" or one of the pre-existing sizes in the dropdown.
I tried selecting manual feed and feeding the postcard in, which lets me feed the postcard, but the printer still prints as if I'm feeding a 8.5"x11" sheet of paper, so the postcard content doesn't print centered on the paper.
I have checked the user's manual and other sources on the net, but don't see any way in which I can tell the printer "hey, I have a custom size piece of paper coming through and here is the size." Manual feed works fine, but no way of changing the paper size.
Do I perhaps need updated drivers or is there a download that would allow me to do this? I searched the Dell drivers site and some results were returned for this printer model, but nothing that suggested that it would solve the problem.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Dianne

I'm having the exact same problem with trying to print file folder labels that are 4x6 in size. It seems to pick up a default envelope size. Any help out there?
