I plugged my Kill-A-Watt into the 1815dn today to get the real answer:
The power levels are as follows:
Standby, fan is running: 15W
Standby, fan off: 14W
Scanning: 24W
Startup: 850W
Printing: 850+W (!!)
The standby power requirements are much better than the Dell documents would have you believe, but the printing situation is dramatically worse. This won't affect your power bill all that much unless you are doing a lot of printing, but you do need to be careful about what else is plugged into the same circuit. My UPS engages every time the printer starts printing.

Power Consumption Operational: 450W
Power Consumption Sleep: 30W
30W in sleep mode is not bad, but that'll cost a few bucks a month in electricity (the 1710n consumes only 20W in sleep mode).
BTW, the sound information is there also:
Sound Emission
Print: 54dB
Copy: 55dB
Standby: 39dB
