When you say Dell Software, are you referring to the Dell All in One Center..? What error do you get..? Most of the time issues like this can be fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver.. Take note, before you reinstall it, try to temporarily disable wnidows firewall or any firewall that came with your computer... OBTW before you uninstall the driver, try to check this out, click on start and click on RUN, in the open box type services.msc   click on OK, the services loca window appears.. from the list of services, look for anything that starts with dlc... it may be dlcx_device or similar to this... on the right side ensure it says started  and  automatic, if not double click  on the dlc.._device , ensure automatic is selected under startup  type then click start.. hope this helps! goodluck!
