The factory default settings on my 946 are set to colour copying. I can manually change from the control panel to black and white obviously but when the printer is turned off, this is lost and it goes back to default (colour) copying when the printer is turned on again. Is there a way to change the default to black and white copying so that I don't have to change this every time?
Go to printers and faxes. Click on the Dell Printer 946 and then click on preferences. Check the box that says print in Black & White. Click OK. Your computer should remember this when you go to print. If you want to change the other computers using this printer, then you should change these settings in those computers also.
Thanks for the suggestion. However the suggestion refers to printing while I am interested in photocopying. Do you have any ideas in relation to photocopying?

Not sure this will work or not.
