Dell 5100cn Printer - Imaging Drum replacement

I just changed the Imaging Drum (ID) for the first time and encountered significant problems. First there was a revoveable item in front of the ID that had to be removed first and removing that item involved pressing a button that was supposed to release hooks at the bottom of 2 vertical shafts, there was not enough clearance to allow release and I had to pry and hold them while prying /forcing the unit out. Second - I was not readily able to life out the ID per the manual. I did manage to get it out by prying from both sides to help loosen the ID and then lifting up and out (when I lifted up the whole printer lifted off the ground, so I had to hold the printer down and force the ID up and out). Installing the new ID and replacing the item in front of it = same problems = involved prying and holding items, then forcing the new units in. Either I am missing something, or there is a significant engineering problem here. The printer is again functioning just fine and overall I have been very happy with it. Has any one else had this problem? Any recommendations? Technical bulletins? NOte that I checked out printer manual on web = same as one I received with the unit.

What button are you using to open the front of the printer?

Great question - seems I was using button on side, failed to follow this instruction, problem solved. I know who missed the boat on this one (me). Thanks.

I am attempting to replace the imaging drum but when I push the large blue button on the right I can't take out the cover.  It seems that the latch is not working, it remains stuck on both sides.  Any idea to help me?  Thank you!
