I am interested in some feed back on anyone who has a 5100cn or something similar. We are looking to print flyers on card stock and this model looked to fill our needs as a printer. However, our concern is the limit on the paper weight it handles. Would appreciate any feedback as to how this printer handles printing on card stock. Or recommendations on a printer to do such...
I am using the 5100 to print tri-fold brochures using the MPF tray. It works okay with 37 lb heavy paper stock, and even handles double sided. Not sure if it is within spec, however.
Are the fliers full sized? If not, then you will be dealing with the MPF tray. I've been trying to get it to work for printing postcards (2 hours at a time every few days) for a couple of weeks... If you want to give it a try, I will sell you my 5100... CHEAP.
I don't think it's possible to print to Tray 1 with anything but letter size. This is a major flaw.
The MPF tray doesn't hold enough paper as we send out 4,000 staements every quarter. I don't think I want to stand there loading 250 at a time.
No thanks for the offer of your 5100cn laser on the cheap. I bought two of them and already sent one back. It's too bad. The 5100cn is economical but it's missing important functions.
It would seem to be just a software patch is all that is needed.
