Dell3100cn drum lifetime.

Hi,

We have a 3100cn at work here, and we are really happy of this printer.
Unfortunately I have some doubts about the drum lifetime:
- the printer printed about 15000 pages (color & bw mixed)
- the printer is installed for about 4 months

Since a few days I keep getting alert e-mail about ordering and replacing the drum.
According to the Dell3100's webpage, the drum (the imaging belt in fact) is supposed to last 30000 pages, that is more than twice the number of pages we printed.

Is it normal ?

30000 pages is the drum life if you are printing only black documents. If you mix prints color 25% and black 75% then drum life drops to 24000 pages. Print more color than 25% and your drum life will drop even further. It sounds like you are getting a normal quantity of pages for your situtation, it just depends on how much color you are using.
