Parallel Port All-In-One
My HP 3150 LaserJet all-in-one printer/fax/scanner/copier works great with my Dell XPS T450. However, the HP 3150 has only a parallel port.
I am considering buying a new computer, but many new computers and apparently all new Dell computers do not have parallel ports.
One possible solution to this port incompatibility is a parallel port card. Even though I have installed memory and network cards in my old XPS T450, I would prefer not to open up a new computer.
Another solution is to buy a bidirectional cable. However, I have read that these are problematic especially with all-in-one machines.
Is there a way that I could use the current well functioning connection between the XPS T450 and the all-in-one as a pathway to connect the all-in-one to a new computer that does not have a parallel port?
Thanks.
