Windows 8 Printer Port

My new Inspiron does not connect to my Samsung ML-2525CW printer, even through USB cable.  Printer and driver installations were done but I keep getting a message "Printer Port not found."  I configure the port through the Control Panel and Printer Properties and yet to no avail.  I have two windows 7 computers that connect easily and work fine.  I have already spent three hours trouble-shooting this problem.  Any help will be appreciated.

    Guindian,

    First run Delete Print Jobs to remove stuck print jobs from the queue. Stuck print job(s) will allow the printer to uninstall and reinstall and the same problem remains.

    Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected.

    Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time, programs and features, Samsung ML-2525cw Printer, uninstall

    Restart your computer.

    Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

    The above procedure cleans out the printer and drivers.

    ==============================================

    With the computer online, if you have the printer disk, try installing hte printer from that. If no disk, see if Samsung has drivers on their website. Install the drivers first, then follow the instructions.

    If this is a wireless printer, a deskto that is plugged into the wireless router can print to a wireless printer with no usb cable attached.

    Remember virus programs and firewalls will blcok communications. If you did not install any virus program, then Windows Defender is the default virus program. Try reading...

    Allow Printer past Microsoft Essentials/Windows Defender
