Picture Files
I used a free tile recovery app from Microsoft to recover some pictures I had lost on my old IBM. I got the files but kept getting a "no preview available" message when clicking on any of the pictures. I put those files/pictures on a flash card and have downloaded them on my NEW DELL. I keep getting the same message. I believe its as simple as reformatting the files but man am I having a tough time. Please help. And yes I still have the IBM, No I do not recall the name of the recovery program

You might have to install the software program that created the photo files to view them. The file extensions on the photos should tell you what program created the file. The photos might be in an old file format from an old program that is not available and you cannot change it.
Make sure you can see all the file extensions on the new computer. To change the settings, open Folder and Search Options in File Explorer and select show all file extensions. Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types. That is selected by default and needs to be changed so you can see the extensions like this: MyPhoto.jpg.
