The basic problem: When I press the power button on my
2200MP it makes a whirring sound like it is going to start up but nothing happens. It whirs back down and whirs back up again. This cycle goes on for 3-5 times and then the amber
lamp light comes on and the fan starts up. On top of this the power button will not turn it back off so the only way to turn it off is to unplug it.
Explanations and attempts: This originally occured a few months back. I assumed the lamp was dead and so ordered a new one. But lo and behold the
new lamp does the same thing. What's more, the warranty also expired a few months back. The only thing I can find as suggestions to solve the problem are to do a factory or lamp reset, which I can't seem to do without a display, or to blow the dust out of the machine, which I tried and it didn't help.
Yep, I have the same problem and Dell is not helping since it's out of warranty. This is one reason I hate buying Dell stuff that you can't get repair from anywhere else. shheeeessss....
