2400mp not working with MacBook Pro

I have a Dell 2400mp projector.  The power is on, the projector is connected to my MacBook Pro via USB cable.  I get the blue Dell logo image on the wall, but my computer is not detecting the projector.  Any ideas?

     You need to also have a VGA cable connected.
