Are these specific dell card the only ones supported , or different brands/models with same chip are supported as well ? (mostly a price issue, these Dell cards cost , used, as much as a refurbished PE2950......)
Officially the parts from us are all that are supported by Dell, as they are the ones we have tested on the servers. With all the 3rd party hardware out there we can't test everything on the server. So when hear that it isn't supported, it isn't us saying that the part definitely won't work, just that we haven't tested it on that platform and don't know the results of installing it. So if not listed by Dell as the supported solution, then it would be based on trial and error if the card or server will function correctly.

The 2950 does indeed show that it supports a 10G SFP+ card, part number CYK8V, T645H, or XR997.
