THIS MESSAGE ALSO COMES UP WHEN I TRY TO DOWNLOAD STUFF AS WELL . WHERE WILL I BE ABLE TO LOCATE THIS FILE WILL IT BE ON ONE OF THE BACK UP DISCS THAT CAME WITH PC?

On the Norton CD somewhere is a program called symclean.exe - run it -- it will remove all traces of Norton.

    Then reboot and reinstall.

You can download it from Symantec.
