Help

I am new to this form and I am not sure how to get the answers I need, so please show me or direct me to some help.  I have a inspiron 8200, it's a couple of years old and I it was acting very unstable, so I tried to fix the problems by clearing my hard drive and reinstalling XP. However things still are not right, so I am running SMART  and it is showing that so far I have some uncorrectable data error. What does this mean????

You need to replace the hard drive - it is failing.

Any 2.5", 9.5 mm EIDE notebook drive will work.

I would go with Seagate, Samsung or Fujitsu - 5400 rpm unit is fine, unless you want the higher performance of a 7200.

If you've already formatted and reinstalled, there's nothing on the drive to save.

A replacement drive costs as little as $60 - even high-end drives are below $200.
